Join us in making a significant impact on the lives of lymphedema patients in Uganda. This September, the Lymphedema Warriors Association Uganda, together with Rural Health Promotion and Poverty Alleviation Initiative (RUHEPAI) and Bugema University Hospital, are organizing a two-week medical and surgical camp. With the expertise of doctors from Germany, we aim to provide essential medical care, skill sharing, and capacity building to those in need. We need your support to make this possible!

Lymphedema is a chronic condition that causes swelling and pain, significantly impacting the quality of life of those affected. In Uganda, access to specialized medical care for lymphedema patients is limited, leaving many without the necessary treatment and support. This medical camp aims to address this gap by providing free medical and surgical care to underserved communities.

Our team of dedicated healthcare professionals, including doctors from Germany (Deggendorf Institute of Technology), will conduct a two-week medical and surgical camp in two locations this September. The camp will offer free medical check-ups, surgeries, and treatment for lymphedema patients. Additionally, we will focus on skill sharing and capacity building, ensuring local healthcare providers can continue supporting lymphedema patients long after the camp concludes.

We aim to raise $37,897.43 to cover the costs of organizing and running the medical camp. Here’s a breakdown of how the funds will be used:

• $15,000 for essential medical and surgical supplies
• $10,000 for transportation and logistics to reach remote areas
• $5,000 for accommodation and support for our volunteer doctors
• $3,000 for educational materials and capacity building for local healthcare workers
• $4,897.43 for contingency and unforeseen needs
